Our Mission

Project P.L.E.A.S.E. offers a safe environment for Woodlawn/Englewood youth from ages 8-13 develop holistically. The program aims to support, nurture, and encourage enriching lifestyles that create positive avenues and options as the youth mature.

Why Do We Need Project P.L.E.A.S.E.?

Project P.L.E.A.S.E. aims to close the experiential gap Chicago youth face by offering exploratory opportunities, arts and humanities enrichment, and mentoring activities in our targeted communities of Englewood and Woodlawn.

We chose these neighborhoods because approximately 50% of the households have an income level below $25,000. Furthermore, approximately 60% of families in these areas live below or near the poverty line. The lack of educational resources limits the opportunities the youth in these neighborhoods have at home and school.

Our child-first programming broadens the horizons of our participants through fun and entertaining methods and incorporates short and long-term curriculums that also cultivate social and emotional well-being.

The kick-off event for Project P.L.E.A.S.E. was a clean spoken word and art concert at The University of Chicago's Logan Arts Center in 2014. Today, we have a database of programs designed to teach life skills and developing youth to excel.

In addition to spoken word, we also offer long-term programs such as character development, leadership workshops, and how to deal with social-emotional matters.

Join us in our mission. Participate. Volunteer. Donate.
